8月26日、ネパールで発生した洪水被害で被災されました皆さまに、心よりお見舞い申し上げます。
また、この度の洪水により、900人を超える多くの尊い「いのち」を落とされた方々のご冥福をお祈り申し上げますとともに、犠牲になられたご遺族に謹んでお悔やみ申し上げます。
更には、邦人５名を含め、未だに安否不明となられている4000人余の方々の一刻も早い救出と、救出活動に従事されている方々の安全を願っております。
本宗が掲げる布教方針「いのちに合掌」は、全ての「いのち」に慈しみと敬意を表するものであります。被災地の１日も早い復興と、救出された方々、被災者されたすべての方々の生活が早く回復されますよう、心よりお祈り申し上げます。

 Statement of Condolence for the Flood Disaster in Nepal

On August 26, severe flooding struck Nepal. On behalf of Nichiren Shu, I would like to express my heartfelt sympathy to all those affected by this disaster.
I also offer our prayers for the more than 900 people who have lost their precious lives, and extend my sincere condolences to the bereaved families.
In addition, more than 4,000 people, including five Japanese nationals, remain unaccounted for. I earnestly hope that they will be rescued as swiftly as possible, and I pray for the safety of all those engaged in the rescue operations.
Nichiren Shu upholds the spirit of reverence for all existence — "With You, For All" — and will continue to stand closely by every precious life. We sincerely pray for the swift recovery of the affected areas and for the earliest possible return to ordinary daily life for everyone who has been affected.
